Awh those poor dogs. And the Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name - don't get me started on them because I will need to restrain my fingers from swearing!

The Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name make me so angry. Their response does not surpirse me. I have had the mis-pleasure of speaking to them in asking for their help through my work on numerous ocassions. Inspectors are called that because that is what they do, or in the case of the Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name, what they are meant to do - Inspect...Investigate.

Regarding the comment about "ill-informed comments damage the society's reputation". What a load of rubbish because they do that themselves. I know some of my colleagues in work would agree with that. Just by giving people such as Mrs Moodie a negative response certainly does not help them. As far as I'm concerned they will only deal with a report if they are 90% sure of gaining a conviction. The only time I have ever seen them on the news is when they have secured a conviction.

A few months ago I had a young lad at my door asking for donations for the Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name. He spun a story that the Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name would like to have a rescue centre build in many, if not every, town as they take in many stray dogs. Knowing what I do, I obviously had to correct him there...as the Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name DO NOT take in stray dogs. Anyway I had my say about the Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name and declined to pledge a donation...as I will always do with the Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name. I give to animal charities that DO care, work and rescue animals.

Lets hope Lulu can be rescued quicker than the Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name can act and that Bruno is found soon.

Well I rang the Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name and to say I was gobsmacked is possibly an understatement. :o

They told me that just because these dogs are "apparently living outside" nobody is doing anything wrong, as their is nothing to say that a dog cannot be left out in the snow, rain, wind cold etc.

When I asked if the dog should have access to appropiate shelter they basically they no.

They also asked me for the exact address so they could pass it to the inspector to check if these dogs have been seen by the inspector and it would depend on his report on what if any action was taken.

The Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name in my opinion have always claimed to care about the safety and wellbeing of any animal I have to say I have dealt with them in the past when we used to work in rescue for small animals, and some of the animals that we used to get from them were not always in good condition, hence they had been removed or signed over to the Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name to avoid a prosecution.

I think its time the Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name went back to basics and rediscovered what its original purpose was, to help animals in need, or animals who are suffering, which clearly by the stories I have read on here is not happening.

Those 2 gsd's kept in a cowshed were a prime example of how badly the Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name are failing in their duties to protect, the owners should have been prosecuted,it is that simple.

But that ended with someone else removing the dogs and giving them a chance, left to the Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name those dogs would have been left to rot.

Its time the whole of the UK woke up to the non profit organisation known as the Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name and stopped supporting them as its quite clear the money is not invested in the safety and protection of needy animals who are desperate for help,my heart goes out to those poor dogs and I just wish I was nearer and I would dognap them

We need to hit the Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name where it hurts - stop people donating to their very rich organisation. Get them to cancel any monthly standing orders.

What was the point in implementing the new welfare act if it is not used.
According to the Defra website:

The Animal Welfare Act 2006 is the most significant change in animal welfare legislation in almost a century.
It makes owners and keepers responsible for ensuring that the welfare needs of their animals are met.
These include the need:
1. For a suitable environment (place to live)
2. For a suitable diet
3. To exhibit normal behaviour patterns
4. To be housed with, or apart from, other animals (if applicable)
5. To be protected from pain, injury, suffering and disease

I have contacted Defra by email today, couldn't get through on the phone. I will try again and get some names that we can complain to.

We need a co-ordinated campaign now to keep up pressure and we need the media and MP's on our side.

Remember:

The RSPCAs Trustees Report and Accounts for 2007 show that of the £114,110,000 received by the Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name in 2007, only £31,635,000 was spent on its Inspectorate whilst more than half of that figure was spent on generating further funds - marketing and advertising.

So, the Large animal charity that doesn't let us publish their name does not appear to have enough inspectors working in the field whilst more than £17,604,000 is being spent on asking the general public for more financial support. This is their achilles heel - stop people donating.
